SINGLE DELEGATE COMMITTEE
UN WOMEN
ABOUT THE COMMITTEE
Gender equality remains one of the most pressing challenges facing the international community. Despite decades of progress, women and girls across the globe continue to face systemic barriers to political representation, economic independence, education, and personal security. As the United Nations' leading entity dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women, UN Women works to dismantle these barriers and advance meaningful change for SDG #5. In this committee, delegates will confront complex questions surrounding women's rights, what it means to be a woman, women's security, and women's participation in political leadership. Navigating competing cultural perspectives, national sovereignty, and international human rights obligations, delegates must develop innovative, actionable solutions. The question remains: who gets to define gender equality, and who gets left behind in the process?CHAIR
